EFW Radiology provides comprehensive diagnostic and interventional imaging services while delivering on our Mission to Provide Exceptional Patient Care. We perform more than 600,000 imaging procedures, consultations, second opinions, and studies every year. POSITION DESCRIPTION


The Director, Information Technology will join a 6-member Senior Leadership Team and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer (CEO). The successful candidate will also lead a team of 10, including 6 direct reports.


This role is entrusted with creating defined procedures to ensure that critical applications and technology platforms deliver exceptional quality and security. You will have the opportunity to work with the leadership team to strategically design and execute how IT will partner with and support the organization.


Experience working with similar highly regulated, risk adverse integrated organizations to manage projects, explore emerging technologies, and lead a center of excellence will be of considerable value.

KEY DELIVERABLES


  • Strategic IT: Create and execute Roadmap for short- and long-term alignment with clinical and business direction including reviewing and establishing processes.
  • Infrastructure Management: Implement and steward system and support procedures that are secure, reliable, and client centric.
  • Process Development: Establish a service level commitment for delivery of key IT clinical and administrative systems; create KPI’s and management reporting pathways.
  • Project Management: Plan, organize, and oversee information technology projects to achieve specific goals within defined constraints such as risk, resources, and scope.
  • Performance Management: Coach adherence to deliverables and model a collaborative approach to accountability, ensuring the team is engaged and meeting service level commitments.
  • Systems: Review current internal systems; source and vet potential replacements, upgrades, and vendors to support clinical and business operations.
  • Stakeholder Relationships: Cultivate trusted working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including Alberta Health Services.
  • Culture Advocate: Champion the organization’s Mission and Values with both the IT team and across the organization; promote collaboration at every opportunity.


QUALIFICATIONS


  • Strategic Leadership: Develop and communicate a clear vision and inspire the IT team to buy in; foster a service-oriented culture focused on continuous improvement and providing exceptional experience for patients, referrers, staff, and physicians.
  • Governance: Introduce standard policies & procedures and incorporate consistent management decisions to ensure high performance, accountability, and trust.
  • Fiscal Responsibility: Develops budgets and fiscal plans for technology resources, assets and projects, demonstrating responsible stewardship of organizational resources.
  • Privacy Impact Assessment (PIAs): Oversee and ensure the completion of PIAs to identify and mitigate privacy risks, ensuring compliance with data protection laws.
  • IT Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge of technological processes, infrastructure, system operations, networking, cybersecurity, and application/device support.
  • Leader as Coach: Incorporate “Leader as Coach” principles; bring equity and fairness to coaching individuals on behalf of building a culture of accountability and respect.
  • Purpose Driven Innovation: Stay up to date on trends in the world of technology; decipher their potential for impact and find creative solutions that fit the needs of the organization.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE


  • Bachelor of Computer Science or Computer Engineering, or related post-secondary education
  • 10+ years’ experience leading technical teams in service management and delivery
  • 5+ years’ experience in healthcare IT
  • 5+ years’ experience in systems architecture and deployment


ASSETS


  • Master of Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related program
  • Experience managing Radiology Information System (RIS) software and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS)
  • Experience with data management as it relates to sharing data with 3rd party organizations
  • Expertise in cybersecurity and virtualization
